The GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit debuts in London this September

Ubisoft’s Chief People Officer Anika Grant and Gapsquare CEO Dr Zara Nanu to keynote at BAFTA

GamesIndustry.biz will host its first HR Summit at 195 Piccadilly (BAFTA’s HQ) in London on September 27th, 2023.

The event will feature keynote talks, roundtables, panels and networking lunches and drinks. It will conclude with the 2023 UK Best Places To Work Awards.

Tickets are available now with an Early Bird price of £130 + VAT (price will rise to £150 on June 1st, 2023). The event is sponsored by Amiqus and Rocksteady.

The first keynote speaker for the event is Anika Grant, the Chief People Officer at Ubisoft. In her talk ‘The Building Blocks of Change’, Grant will discuss Ubisoft’s efforts to roll out a program change around employee engagement, career development and company culture following the company’s very public issues.

Our second speaker is Dr Zara Nanu (MBE), who is co-founder and CEO of Gapsquare. Dr Nanu starter her career combatting human trafficking and campaigning on woman’s rights, and now champions equality and more inclusive workplaces for all. She founded Gapsquare after hearing it would take 217 years before the Gender Pay Gap could be closed. More details on her talk will be shared in the coming weeks.

Other topics that will feature during the conference will include four-day working weeks, internships and education solutions, creating a sense of belonging in a hybrid working world, managing the cost-of-living crisis and more.

The event will then conclude with the UK Best Places To Work Awards ceremony.

"Amiqus is delighted to support this new event," said Amiqus business manager Liz Prince. "Those working in roles focussing on People and Culture in the games industry have a tough job in the current climate of significant talent shortages, the post-Covid working environment, the cost-of-living crisis and its impact on individuals – and more.

"We are honoured to work with so many of these talented individuals within studios throughout the UK and Europe, and welcome the launch of the HR Summit by Gamesindsutry.biz. We’re looking forward to a day of learning and discussion, followed by the annual Best Places To Work Awards, where we will also be presenting our G Into Gaming Award for Diversity.

Nathan Burlow, Studio Director at Rocksteady added: "It’s really exciting to be sponsoring the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit in its first year. As game makers we have a responsibility to continue to grow this amazing industry, so all developers can reach their full potential. We're looking forward to connecting with HR colleagues across the industry to find new ways to make that a reality."

Tickets are on sale here. If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact George.Corner@gamesindustry.biz.
